A whole new take on knitwear - funky mohair cardies, silky dresses in luscious colours and knitted photographic images - since opening her shop in Camden, Penny has concentrated on retailing her own knitwear, aimed at the 25yr plus woman looking for style, quality and something special, while continuing to wholesale to a small number of shops.
As a designer/maker she has built up a discerning clientele offering them a range of off the peg knits as well as a made to measure service.
Penny has a small team of local makers to produce her designs, which are made to a very high standard in kid mohair, silk, linen, cotton and fine Italian yarns. She has most of her yarns specially dyed and blended to order.
All of her designs are limited editions or ‘one-off' art pieces and she is constantly developing and adding new designs to her range, this years look - asymmetrical hemlines and sculptural shapes.
Ethical Policy / Fairtrade ALL YARN products are spun and dyed under stringent controls, to ensure quality, wash fastness, no use of environmentally harmful dyestuffs or chemicals, comply with European ECO/ISO standards and are sourced from areas thoroughly checked-out beforehand to ensure compliance with high ethical standards.
Also stocked in the shop to compliment the knitwear -
high quality clothing from OSKA and Flax,
and UK designed jewellery by Jane Adam, Rowena Park etc.
Penny started her knitwear business in 1986, having always had a fascination with designing and making clothes.
Before opening her shop, she concentrated on prestigious design fairs such as the Chelsea Crafts Fair run by the Crafts Council and on wholesale, with orders from round the world including the outlets listed -
